We offer CELTA in two accessible formats to suit your needs: Face-to-face in scenic Cape Town or Online from the comfort of your home.

1. CELTA Face-to-face

Experience hands-on learning in beautiful Cape Town. Our CELTA face-to-face course combines practical teaching with expert guidance, fostering real classroom confidence.

  • Duration: A highly intensive 4-week course, running Monday to Friday, 08:30 to approximately 15:30 (times may vary).
  • Orientation Session: Optional but recommended, held on the Friday afternoon before the course begins.
  • Campus Familiarization: Opportunity to acquaint oneself with the campus, fellow trainees, and technology like smart boards.
  • IT Support: Assistance provided to connect laptops to printers and introduction to the online learning platform.
  • Comprehensive Approach: The course integrates practical and theoretical learning, with extensive, closely supervised teaching practice and both written and oral feedback.
  • Commitment Required: Preparation and assignments require 180 additional learning hours outside course hours; therefore, holding any other major commitments is not advisable during the course.

2. CELTA Online

Flexibility meets quality with our CELTA online course. Engage with experienced instructors remotely, and embrace a convenient, interactive approach to TEFL certification from anywhere in the world.

  • Duration and Structure: A rigorous 6-week course with Teaching Practice and Input Sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 16:30 local time. Wednesdays are set aside for independent work.
  • Technology Training: The first week includes training on various technology platforms to ensure applicants are confident and ready to teach with technology starting from week two.
  • Workload: In addition to scheduled sessions, applicants should expect 80 additional hours of coursework for lesson planning and assignments. It's not advisable to have other commitments that might need your time, during the course duration.
  • Teaching Approach: The course provides both practical and theoretical instruction, extensive supervised teaching practice, and feedback. The virtual classroom includes features like breakout rooms for student-centered, communicative lessons.

Requirement, Eligibility

  • Be 18 years old or over by the start of the course.
  • Have a standard of education that is required to teach primary or higher education.
  • Have sound awareness of language, and a competence in both written and spoken English.
  • Non-native speakers require an English Proficiency level of overall IELTS 7.5, TOEFL iBT 110
  • A pre-course interview will assess your potential to develop the skills required to pass the course

Things to do while taking CELTA in Cape Town

Although the Table Mountain is the most prominent landmark in Cape Town, the beauty of the Mother City transcends beyond just the mountains. The entire landscape of pristine white beaches, breathtaking vineyards, and lovely green parks will cause you to marvel. This is by no means an excuse to miss climbing to the top of the mountain to get the most astonishing view of the city or abseiling down with a rope for an adrenaline-filled experience.

Once you are done mesmerizing in the stunning view at the top of the Table Mountain, you can head off to the Boulders Beach on False Bay. The beauty of the beach is in the numerous boulders scattered atop the shoreline. The Kirstenbosch National Botanical garden is another place you should see. The city’s floral territory will make you fall in love with flowers with over 7, 000 indigenous species. If you love hiking, then take a trip to Lion’s Head or sandboard on the Atlantis Dunes, whatever your choice.

Cape Town is also a food haven offering some of the tastiest foods and wines in the world. Try fish and chops, game meat, and the amazingly delicious gatsby. Cape Town wine is so good; you can refer to the city as the World’s Wine Capital. While you take your CELTA, visit the Constantia Valley well-known for its wineries, oak-lined streets, and old-style mansions.
